The ingredients needed to make Dahi Chicken:
  1. Take 800 gm chicken
  2. Make ready 1 cup curd
  3. Take 2-3 green chillies
  4. Take 1/2 tablespoon salt
  5. Make ready 1 onion sliced
  6. Prepare 1 onion chopped
  7. Make ready 1 inch ginger
  8. Make ready 8-9 pods garlic
  9. Get 5-6 cashews
  10. Take 2-3 tablespoon coconut
  11. Make ready 1/2 tablespoon cumin seeds
  12. Take 4-5 tablespoon oil
  13. Make ready 1 tablespoon garam masala powder
  14. Take 2 bay leaf
  15. Make ready 1 pinch saffron
Instructions to make Dahi Chicken:
  1. Marinate 800 grams of chicken(with bone pieces) with 1 cup of curd, salt 1/2 tablespoon, green chillies sliced and 1 onion sliced. Marinate it for 30 minutes.
  2. Make a paste of fried (1onion, 1 inch ginger, 8-9 pods of garlic) along with 5-6 cashews, 2 tablespoon of grated coconut.
  3. Heat a kadai with 4-5 tablespoon of oil and sauté 1/2 tablespoon of cumin seeds.
  4. Add the marinated chicken with 1/3 tablespoon of turmeric powder. Stir well and mix the paste made in grinder
  5. Add 2 bay leaf and 1/2 tablespoon of garam masala powder. Stir well and cook for 5 minutes covering with a lid.
  6. Add 2 cups of water and boil till cooked in medium flame. Stir in between so that the gravy doesn’t stick or burn from down.
  7. Add some water if required to cook. When the the recipe is completely cooked, sprinkle a pinch of saffron to it and off the flame. Cover it with a lid and let it rest for few minutes.
  8. Yummy Dahi Chicken is ready to serve with rice or roti.
