  13. Take 1 tbsp minced garlic
  14. Prepare 1 tbsp grated ginger
  15. Make ready 2 tbsp juice of fresh lime

  17. Make ready 1 tbsp curry paste ' not the yellow curry powder ' ( I like to use Patak's brand )
  18. Prepare 1 tbsp Salt
  19. Make ready Butter chicken sauce
  20. Prepare 1 liter Neutral tomato sauce ( not the store bought jarred type )
  21. Get 500 ml 35 % cream
  22. Take 1/2 cup sweet butter
  23. Get 1 cup finely diced white onion
  24. Take 2 tbsp curry paste
  25. Make ready 2 tbsp Garam masala
  26. Prepare 1 tbsp sweet paprika or hot

Serve with basmati rice and warm naan bread. This recipe for Butter Chicken is one of my favourites. This is a healthier and easier version of the popular Take Away dish. You can make a Vegetarian versi.

Steps to make Butter chicken ( my version ):
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Place chicken on baking tray lined with parchment paper or foil and bake for 10-15 minutes.
  3. In a medium sized pot on medium heat add butter, onions, garam masala, paprika and curry paste.
  4. Sweat for 5-10 minutes. stir well as to prevent burning. Add tomato sauce then cream. and bring to a boil.
  5. Remove from heat and add chicken. Return to stove and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
