Chicken Momos are also a traditional dish of Nepali cuisine and resemble Chinese Bao. However, it differs a lot from the Indian chicken momos. To prepare these savoury dumplings, all you need are all-purpose flour, boiled chicken, onion, ginger, green chilli, soy sauce and a little salt. Steps to make Chicken Momos:
  1. Knead a soft dough from flour, salt, 2 tsp oil and water.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and put chopped garlic.
  3. Now add chopped onion and sauté till golden brown.
  4. Add boiled and shredded chicken, garam masala, chilli powder and salt.
  5. Add an egg, scramble it and sauté for a minute.
  6. Now add tomato sauce, mix well and switch off the flame.
  7. Make small size balls from dough and roll out like poori.
  8. Keep stuffing mixture on poori, fold it in momo shape and steam for 10 minutes.
  9. Serve chicken momos with sauce immediately.

Chicken mince flavoured with soy sauce, chilies, pepper are stuffed inside a thin flour dough filling and then steamed. Since this recipe is a steamed dim sum recipe, it is a healthy high protein recipe with tender chicken. Traditionally, these Momos are steamed, but with time, people have also preparing various versions of these Momos such as Deep Fried Momos, Grilled Momos and Tandoori Momos.
